This summary report is based on results from OECD work produced in recent years by the Directorate for Education. The approach chosen focuses on results and policy orientations which are published and hence in the public domain. The publication is divided into eight chapters, devised as a structure to reflect well the different areas of educational work and to bring out policy conclusions and messages: early childhood, schooling, transitions beyond initial, higher education, lifelong learning, outcomes and benefits, equity and equality of opportunity, and innovation and knowledge. Each chapter contains an introduction, key findings and policy directions in the field. 

Education at a Glance 2014: OECD Indicators offers a rich, comparable and up-to-date array of indicators that reflects a consensus among professionals on how to measure the current state of education internationally. The indicators provide information on the human and financial resources invested in education, how education and learning systems operate and evolve, and the returns to investments in education. The indicators are organized thematically and each is accompanied by information on the policy context and an interpretation of the data.

Ce rapport Eurydice examine le contexte et l’organisation des évaluations standardisées des élèves dans 30 pays européens ainsi que l’utilisation de leurs résultats pour les élèves à titre individuel, au niveau des établissements scolaires et au niveau national. Il présente les différents choix faits par les pays européens quant aux objectifs, à la fréquence et au contenu des tests nationaux et attire l’attention sur des aspects importants qui caractérisent ces derniers, à partir desquels les pays pourraient s’inspirer de leurs expériences mutuelles. Il met également en exergue la nécessité de mettre au point des systèmes cohérents d’évaluation des élèves permettant de créer un équilibre entre les tests à l’échelle nationale et d’autres formes d’évaluation visant non seulement à évaluer les élèves, mais également à les aider à s'améliorer.

This report aims to highlight the effects of standardised assessment. The first section of the report will consider the theoretical impacts of standardised assessment both as a monitoring tool in education systems and as a teaching tool used to improve individual pupils' performance. The second part of the report will provide an empirical analysis of the real impact of standardised assessment in terms of effectiveness, educational equality and efficiency. The third part of the report describe the mechanisms associated with the introduction of testing and the responses of various groups: teachers, both individually and as a body, the education system managers (head teachers, local and regional education officers), parents and the pupils themselves. The report examines how these groups react to the introduction of standardised assessment and whether their responses vary according to the nature of the reforms undertaken.

Es una guía abreviada de consejos prácticos para elaborar y revisar los manuscritos que los autores escriben para cualquiera de las revistas de la Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje. Se presentan casos “típicos” de aquellas dudas que asaltan al escritor novel –o no tan novel– cuando se enfrenta al “formateado” definitivo de su texto antes de enviarlo. Para ello se han tenido en cuenta, por ejemplo, los errores u omisiones más comunes detectados en los manuscritos que se reciben en las redacciones. Remitiremos en cada apartado a otros documentos de carácter más exhaustivo para la resolución de cuantas dudas específicas se le planteen al autor.

Introducción
Con este artículo se pretende reflexionar sobre la posibilidad de disponer de servicios de atención a la pequeña infancia que complementen a las escuelas infantiles, sobre todo en el primer ciclo de la etapa educativa (de 0 a 3 años), dado que el segundo ciclo tiene un lugar reservado en los centros de educación primaria, y los 3 años son el inicio real de la escolarización en diversos contextos, concretamente el catalán y español. También se pretende ayudar a analizar la necesidad de garantizar la calidad requerida para atender a la infancia en todo su proceso de desarrollo y educación; así como el ajuste necesario a cada realidad territorial, apuntando brevemente experiencias concretas de algunos países conscientes de los beneficios que tiene, a nivel social, atender bien a las criaturas y a sus familias. Algunos de los modelos que se ofrecen como ejemplos para ilustrar el texto son catalanes, dado que son los que mejor conocemos, pero nuestro ánimo es que sirvan para el nacimiento de propuestas semejantes en distintas realidades geográficas y sociales.

This study presents the available cross-national data and examines national policies on early childhood education and care in Europe. It combines this with a summary of what research tells us in this domain and a summary of the main trends and approaches in Europe, drawing some tentative conclusions as to what might be some effective ways of achieving equity and efficiency in
pre-primary education.

These diagrams give an overview of the educational structure for mainstream schooling in each country from pre-primary level up to tertiary education.

En el seu discurs, Riba va defensar una aproximació, la de les ciències socials, que busquen l’objectivitat i la veritat a partir de l’anàlisi d’una realitat multiforme que implica diverses interpretacions.
